How Will the Transition from Non-renewable to Renewable Energy Jobs Take Place?

Although the complete eradication of jobs in the non-renewable energy sector is not possible in the near future, the possibility of slow transition between the two cannot be denied. Due to the various schemes run by the governments in different countries to increase popularity of generating power from renewable resources, the future of look highly promising. Therefore, the future of renewable energy jobs in the job market could be as follows:

  • There may be more demand for power from renewable energy and therefore more new jobs may be created. At the same time jobs in non-renewable sectors may reduce. Existing oil companies may think of diversifying into the non-renewable energy sector.
  • Some existing jobs into renewable energy may be replaced by renewable ones, for example there may be more car battery charging stations than petrol filling stations.
  • Many existing professionals like electricians, plumbers may have to learn new skills to work on renewable energy equipment.
