Natural beauty is definitely the thing on everybody’s lips these days. This is great because it potentially means you can use less make-up, but on the other hand it also means you have to put in extra effort in order to take care of your complexion to always look glowing and healthy.
The Chinese associated most human conditions with the workings of our inner organs, and along those same lines it has also been said that many skin problems actually stem from problems with your kidneys.
Drinking water is therefore one of the cornerstones of natural skin care. It is best to always start your day by drinking a glass of water, maybe with a bit of honey and a twist of lime in it. Throughout the day you need to flush the body by drinking at least ten glasses of water. Besides hydrating your skin this is also essential for good digestion and will prevent conditions like constipation.
Naturally you also need to be aware of your skin type, and treat it accordingly.
Those with dry skin should never use soap and water for cleansing the face, as any astringent substance will only dry your skin further. Instead, use a rich cream cleanser and apply a mild skin toner afterwards. Applying a moisturizing lotion after removing your make-up and before bed time.
And here are a couple of natural beauty tips for you. Wash your face with melon juice about once a week. A beneficial weekly facial can also be made from the yolk of an egg mixed with a little bit of milk and honey. Have it applies to your face for about a quarter of an hour before rinsing it off.
If you have oily skin the opposite is true, in that you should apply an astringent in the form of a good natural soap and water. Personally I have had really good results from using an all-natural goat milk soap. In any case, the slight astringent will have the effect of tightening and drying skin, which is what we want for oily skin types.
Finally, keep in mind that emotions affect your entire physiology as well. If you are worried and stressed out, that will show in your face as well. So remember to take care of yourself mentally as well as physically, and you will always look your best.
